Development Programs and Opportunities

Goddard Leadership Education Series (GLES)

This program is designed to provide leadership competency-based models to first and second-level GSFC supervisors and group leaders.  Employees will receive results from a 360-degree feedback instrument.  Content areas include team development and managing and appreciating diversity.  Participants take part in leadership and teaming activities, management exercises and assessment tools dealing with various leadership topics.  There are also extensive opportunities for networking with colleagues.

You will learn

  • How to understand your own leadership style and its impact on others
  • About different temperaments and communication styles and their role in being effective as a leader
  • How to use conflict as a lens for understanding and resolving workplace dilemmas
  • How to identify and create an ongoing plan to constantly develop leadership skills and capabilities

Who Should Attend:  Managers, Supervisors and Group Leaders Grade 13 and above.     

Dates:

Series I - April 16-17, 2008 - 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. Building 1, Room E100E

Series II - May 12-16, 2008 - 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. Maritime Institute, Linthicum Maryland

Series III – June 16-19, 2008 - 8:00 – 4:30 p.m. Maritime Institute, Linthicum Maryland
